Sunset colors over Prague

A bit more colorful photo today, or better said one with a lot of shades of orange. This was taken sometime back during a very nice sunset over the city. There were no real clouds, but it was overcast and the whole sky became this nice orange. And that changed the color of the whole city with it.

This is a blend from 5 exposures, done in Photoshop.

Museum with yellow penguins

Today’s photo is from Prague. It’s the Kampa Museum next to the Vltava lake, not far from the Charles bridge. I don’t really like it that much. It’s a modern art museum, and while some of the installations around it look nice, especially the yellow penguins, most of them are just random. Like a pile of things just thrown together without any thought or reason. I prefer classic art, where you can see the stunning skill and dedication of the artists.

This is a view from the other side of the Vltava lake. There is this point where part where is this little cascade. Makes for a nice leading line here. This is a blend of three exposures, done in Photoshop.

Prague reflection

It’s quite usual for me, at the beginning of the year, to be low on photos to post. I already have plans for photo trips in the next few months, but nothing right now. And with the last few not being that successful, I’m back to choosing photos from my archives.

So for today, here is a photo from one of my trips to Prague. It’s probably the most photographed view there, but still worth it :). This is a blend from 4 exposes, done in Photoshop.

Manes Bridge in Prague

Let’s continue with another big panorama today. This one is of the Manes Bridge in Prague, during quite a nice blue hour. It has been a while since I was in Prague so it’s really time again to go back there this year. Maybe once it’s warm again :)

This is a two shot panorama, each shot from three exposures. Blended and combined in Photoshop. You may have noticed by my latest photos, that I have been using only Photoshop. It’s start of the year and as usually I like to evolve my editing skills. And my goal is to have better, cleaner results with less work. That’s why I’m trying to limit the edits on the photos.

Composites

I don’t really like to do composites when I do photos. I edit a lot of things, but usually don’t use parts of other photos (not taken at the same location around the same time) to enhance the one I’m editing. That does not mean I never do it, but I like to specify in the description that it’s a composite. I just don’t like to give a fake impression, that somebody else can go to the place and get a photo like that directly.

So even today, as I will share with you a composite version of today’s photo, please know that it’s a composite and there was no time when I took these fireworks over Prague.

The whole length of the Charles Bridge

I took this panorama quite a while ago. But as with many other photos I never edited it until now. My photo library is huge and I like to randomly look through it and select older photos to edit. Of course this I do mostly when I don’t have that many new photos to edit. Also, since ones editing skills tend to improve over time, I think I can now edit photo I would not dare to do few years ago.

So this photo is a 2 tile panorama, each tile from 6 exposures. I did so many exposures, as some of the lights around the Prague castle are really bright. In the end I used every single on in the final editing. I combined the shots together in PTgui and then blended them in Photoshop.

And as I mentioned, here is a composite image based on this Prague panorama. I did extent the top and bottom parts a lot, and then blended in 4 different fireworks photos. It does create quite a different photo, doesn’t it?
