Enclosed in stone

I don’t take that many photos of statues, but this one really looks interesting. Would love to see how they fit them into the stone :) This is the Julius Zeyer Monument in Prague.

I took this photo one early morning. I went to the Letna park to take some photos of the city, and the weather was nothing much. So I explored the surrounding area and found this monument. I went for a nice and tight crop here, as it was quite cloudy, and the sky was just boring. Also as it was quite early in spring, the surrounding trees were also nothing much.

I actually made a little video while shooting there (no exactly on the same spot, but not far from this). Not much, just showing few steps, same as I mention in my HDR tutorial

And here is the daily photo:

Prague Sunset

Such a lovely view, isn’t it. The last two times I was in Prague, I went to the top of the Old town hall tower. It really is one of the best places for nice photos in Prague. But next time I will probably skip it, as there are many more towers there, which I still have not visited.

Soft sunset in Prague

Sometimes you have nice clouds and sometimes you just don’t need them. This photo is mostly about the great sunset color, and how nicely it reflected onto the river. I thought about cropping it more onto the Prague castle, but as usually I decided against it. Somehow I almost never crop my photos and stay with the composition I chosen while taking it.

Late night at the Charles Bridge

Somehow I always get to this bridge late at night. Will have to go there once during the sunset :) At least there are no people there at that time.

Inside the St. Vitus Cathedral

A handheld HDR from a single raw at 2000 ISO? Not very usual setting for me. I didn’t even take this so I edit it, just to have a photo that I was there :). But as you can see, it doesn’t look that bat at all. My goal was to use my tripod and do a proper (at least 9 brackets) series. But I was just to slow. The guard noticed me and ask me not to use it. It was strange, as they had no problems with flash photography, which I think is much worse than using a tripod.
