Again to break up the Paris shots, here is one older, from Cesky Krumlov. this one is from the very cold snowy sunrise I had there. From the location I was standing at, the sun shown itself so nicely, right behind the castle tower :)

This is a HDR from 3 exposures, created in Oloneo Photoengine, finished in Photoshop.

A cold sunrise

Technique: Oloneo Photoengine, Number of exposures: 3, Camera Model: Canon EOS 5D mark II, Lens: Canon 24-70mm F2.8, Focal length: 70mm, Aperture: 18, Middle exposure time: 1/20s, ISO: 100, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.811872, 14.311878

I haven’t even notice, while I was taking this panorama, that half of the image is completely dark, while the second is quite bright. It’s actually a little strange, that the street right next to the water is not lit at all. But since you can see from the amount of lights on the Charles bridge, they probably decided not to bother with it.

This is a two tile panorama, each tile from 3 exposures. Panorama combined using PTgui, HDR created in Oloneo Photoengine, finished in Photoshop.

Half lit

Technique: Oloneo Photoengine, Number of exposures: 3, Camera Model: Sony a7R + Metabones MkIII Adapter, Lens: Canon 24-70mm F2.8, Focal length: 64mm, Aperture: 9, Middle exposure time: 10s, ISO: 100, Tripod used: yes, Location: 50.084393, 14.413288

Continuing with number 3, here we have a photo taken in the center of Prague, Czech Republic.

From the neighboring bridge

It’s such a pleasure to walk around a city early in the morning. Especially when it’s completely empty and quiet. I even wrote an article why to take photos at sunrise and it really is worth it. It was same in Cesky Krumlov. I think I seen only one other person on my way from the hotel to this spot.

When everyone sleeps

Technique: Oloneo Photoengine, Number of exposures: 6, Camera Model: Canon 5D mark II, Lens: Canon 24-70mm F2.8, Focal length: 24mm, Aperture: 7.1, Middle exposure time: 32s, ISO: 320, Tripod used: yes, Location: 48.808551, 14.313694

Many things are important in photography, but I always think that the most important part of the gear, are good shoes. Thats one thing that has to be 100% reliable all the time, as quite often, one has to focus on the photo, and can’t look onto every step. I personally use shoes LOWA for few years now, and that they are made in Slovakia is just a bonus :) They are not cheap, but always worked great for me. Same in this place. The are I was standing on was a slope, going down into the water. And of course it was made from stones and wet. Not a place for some bad shoes :)
