The leading bridge

One of very good working composition rules is leading lines. That means that you should have lines in your photo, which lead to the main subject. And I think the Charles bridge in this photo works very nicely as a leading line. It just draws your eyes towards the Prague castle in the distance.

I haven’t taken many portrait oriented shots lately. They can give you a great view of a subject, but they are just not fit onto a horizontally oriented screen. But from time to time they are fine :)

The leading bridgeThis view of the Charles bridge is really great. It just creates an excellent composition on its own.

Almost all my photos have a blue sky, so I’m really happy to have something really different :) It was very nice to see the sun, as it was cold on the top of the tower, and at least I could imagine the heat from the sun.

I vent with 11 brackets here, as It was taken while looking directly into the sun, and I wanted the sun in the shot, not just a big overexposed area. I left the sun also quite saturated, as that’s what I see the sun is, a big orange ball. Also I forgot to add a before/after comparison for a longer time, so today there is one :)

Late at night by Vltava

Shooting photos by water is just great. You get all those nice light, and reflections, which give your photo a very interesting look. The only drawback is, then when the temperature drops, it’s even colder there. And when I took this photo, the temperature dropped to around 0 degrees, which I really felt on my fingers.

Angry clouds above Prague

Sometimes you just hope for an interesting sky, and sometime you get it. This was a complete surprise. Few moments before this clouds appeared, the sky was almost completely clear. I took this from the top of the Old town hall tower in Prague. I also wanted to zoom in more on the castle, but as I currently don’t have a telephoto lens for my 5D, I stuck with wide angle shots. Btw. the clousds are not HDR, there are completly from one of the exposures :)

Inside the Charles bridge tower

This is a small museum inside the Charles bridge tower. And this is actually the only photo I took there. I was there after sunset, and the sky was so nice, that I went directly to the top of the tower, not spending time here. I actually just took it so I have at least one new interior shot from Prague, as I had no luck in the St. Vitus cathedral, where I was just too slow preparing my tripod. Maybe next time :)
