Colorful bicycle in Amsterdam

I like to use bicycles as foreground elements in my Amsterdam photos. There are so many there and they just fit the city so much. And if I find a nice one, the better. So when I have seen this very colorful bicycle, I knew I wanted to use it in a photo.

This is a two shot vertorama. The bottom part made from a single photo, the top from two. I needed the second, darker one to get rid of some overexposed light in the background.

At the canals in Amsterdam

Let’s stop by Amsterdam with today’s photo. I tried to include the bicycles here, as I do with most of my Amsterdam photos, as the canals with them just identify the city so nicely. Actually while I was taking this one, a car passed behind me, and lit up the bicycles. It was only on one exposure, but I could blend it in easily. Really great to have multiple exposures to work with :)

This is a 5 exposure blend, done in Photoshop.

Keukenhof

In my Top photography list for Amsterdam I mention Keukenhof as one of the must visit locations there. If you never heard of Keukenhof, it’s a huge park filled with tulips. It’s just beautiful (ant this is coming from a person that does not really care that much about flowers :)). And as Keukenhof just opened few days ago for their 2019 season, here are few photos from the last years to motivate you for a visit. I hope to visit it again this year, but not sure yet if I manage. Maybe if I have some work in Amsterdam.

Canals in Amsterdam

I’m so tired today. Spend a lot of yesterday in trains and travel always makes me so tired. But one has to work, so what can one do :). So a bit later update today, but I hope you like it.

This is a vertorama taken at the most popular photography spot in Amsterdam. There are always photographers there, photographing the canals
I still don’t have a nice sunset shot form it though. And tried to get one at least 10 times already. I even once booked a stay in house 3 minutes away, just so I can be there really quickly. Still, no luck. Will have to try again.

This is a 2 shot vertorama, each shot from 3 exposures, blended and edited in Photoshop.

In the center of Amsterdam

This part of Amsterdam is very busy. The photo was taken right from the street that almost everyone take to get to the main train stations. And if you were ever in Netherland, you would know that they use trains a lot. Always I was there, the street was crazy full. But you can’t really tell from this photo :)

I took quite a few photos in this area over the years, but I never liked any. Even this one is a bit boring, with the clear blue sky. But I never really had luck with sunset in Amsterdam anyway. But of course, I will try again next time.

This is a two shot panorama, each shot from two exposures. Blended and combined in Photoshop.
