Late night moon at lake Bled

I wonder what they use to light up the castle at the lake Bled. The light is just so crazy bright. I was at least 7 exposures underexposed and still, they were just white in my photo. Even in the finished one I was not able to blend them exactly how I wanted. Must be some crazy strong lights.

I was not sure if I will even edit this photos. It was just too dark with the bright lights and bright mooon. And I did not take a brighter exposure. Better said, I did, but with a bit differnt composition and a bit out of focus. So this one had to work out until I go back to Bled one day.

This is a blend of three exposures, but mostly for the lights on the castle and the church. I also had to clean up some lens flares created by the moonlight. Edited and blended in Photoshop.

And here is also a comparison to the original RAW file. As you can see, it was really dark. And this was the brightest exposure I had.

Long exposure reflection at the lake Bled

I’m not really happy with the photos I took at lake Bled last month, but I also would be sad if I did not edit at least some of them. But looks like I will have to go back to get some sort of a nice sunset there. Maybe later this year. Who knows :)

Here is another panorama with the church in the middle of the lake, nicely flanked by the mountains. This is a two shot panorama, each shot from a single exposure. Edited and merged in Photoshop. I used a 10 stop Formatt Hitech filter here, to blur the water.

Back to posting

You may have noticed the lack of updates during the last two weeks. I was just a bit busy with work and travel, that I was not able to post. But I should be back to posting again now, until I have to leave again that is :).

Spring panorama at the lake Bled

Last week I stopped by the lake Bled in Slovania. And while the views were beautiful, the weather was a big boring for photography. The whole time the sky was either clear blue, or like in this photo, with a very soft clouds. Not really something that looks great in photos. But still I took some and will share them with you.

So here is the first one. This is a 4 shot panorama. Each shot taken with a 10 stop ND filter. Combined and edited in Photoshop. It’s a bit wide, but I did not want to crop it. It just shows the whole view so nicely.
