You have already seen many photo with the Budapest parliament reflection in the Danube. Few of those even on this blog :). But today, I have for you a little opposite reflection of the parliament. This time it’s the reflection of it in the new fountain, that was added in the last year. I’m very happy that I could find a new, different view of the parliament, one I didn’t had before. Btw. the bright light to the side of the parliament, is the Moon.

I had to place the camera around 1-2 centimeters from the water, to be able to get this reflection. Good that one can get really close, as it’s more of a waterfall, than a fountain. One just has to be careful, as in some areas, it’s more powerful, and one could get water on the lens. This is a HDR from 5 exposures, created in Oloneo Photoengine, finished in Photoshop.

Back side reflection

I never know how to edit these fully sunlit photos. It’s really not the best light to shoot in. But one has to do it from time to time. I’m not even sure about the colors, as I don’t remember how it looked. With the strong sunlight reflecting from everything, I could not even look directly towards the Danube.

This is a two tile panorama, each tile from 3 exposures, created in Oloneo Photoengine.

Another sunny day

Technique: Manual blend, Number of exposures: 2×3, Camera Model: Sony a7R + Metabones Adapter ver. IV, Lens: Canon 70-200mm F2.8, Focal length: 123mm, Aperture: 8, Middle exposure time: 1/200s, ISO: 200, Tripod used: yes, Location: 47.514566, 19.040937

Another view you get only at a certain time. Right after sunrise, when the sunrises above the Pest side of Budapest, it lights up the castle, while everything else is still in shadow. And if you are on the Chain bridge at that time, you get a view like this.

This is a panorama form 2 tiles, each tile from 3 exposures, combined in Oloneo Photoengine.

Sunlit morning

Technique: Manual blend, Number of exposures: 2×3, Camera Model: Sony a7R + Metabones Adapter ver. IV, Lens: Canon 16-35mm F2.8, Focal length: 30mm, Aperture: 13, Middle exposure time: 1/15s, ISO: 100, Tripod used: yes, Location: 47.499114, 19.044873

These are the Shoes on the Danube Bank, a World War II memorial in Budapest, to honor the Jews that were killed there, who were ordered to take off their shoes, and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river. It represents their shoes left behind on the bank.

I wanted to take a photo like this already few years ago, but I could never find them. But I think (but I’m not sure about that) that they were removed for the reconstruction of the parliament area, and were recently returned to their place. These are two shots blended in Photoshop.

You may have noticed, that a lot of my recent photos (almost all of them) are mostly blue hour and night shots. I’m not that happy about that, but thats what my luck with weather was recently. It is either crazy sunny, or raining. And in those cases I can only take shots in the evening. But a little more diversity would be nice.

Todays photo is of the Liberty bridge in Budapest. This is a HDR from 4 exposures, created in Oloneo Photoengine, finished in Photoshop.

One rainy day
