Church of St. Francis of Assisi

What a beautiful church this is. This is the Church of St. Francis of Assisi (kostel sv. Františka z Assisi) in Prague, the one right next to the Karl’s Bridge.

And this is the only photo I took there. But what happened was, that I went in, quickly put down my tripod, took the shot and immediately after that I was asked to stop, as photography was not allowed there :) This was a little strange, as there were 4 more people with cameras, all taking photos and I was the only one they asked to stop. Looks like I was looking too professional with the tripod :)

Either way, I think the photo came out really good and I’m happy with it.

Streets of gold

This was my second visit to Prague this year, and for the second time, I had no nice clouds the whole weekend. Of course the booth days, when I was traveling, they were just stunning :) So I tried my best to work around it, taking as many photos as possible around sunset. This one is from the top of the Old Town hall tower right after the sun went down.

Portal

I think to most of the people who ever visited Prague, this is a very well known place :) For everyone else, this is the elevator and stairs in the Old Town Hall Tower (the one with the astronomical clock on it :) ) It’s really great for HDR photos, and nobody minds if you use a tripod in there :)

All aboard the night tram

For all my night shots, I use manual focusing. I really want to be 100% sure, where the camera focuses. So this time, I had to be really quick. When I got to the Malostranske namestie (Lesser Town Square) in Prague, the tram was already standing at the stop. But after all the photos, I have it already so learned, that I don’t have to look at a single button on the camera :)

Actually, my favorite part of this photo are the two guys sitting in the middle :) They are not even blurred and I think they add more life to this photo. I also tried a selective color version of this, where everything except the tram was B&W, but will have to play a little more with that, so I will add it sometime later on.

I also remixed the HDR with the original 0EV shot, so this is maybe only 10-20% HDR, all other is a regular long exposure photo.

Prague Twilight

Just got back from Prague (that’s why today’s photo is a little later than usual). I spend the whole weekend taking photos there, and I think some of them look quite alright :). So here is the first one, of the Staromestské námestie (Old Town Square), taken right after the sun hid behind the horizon.
