Moon

Since in the photo I posted yesterday, the moon wasn’t that visible, here is a more detailed shot of it :)

This is a panorama from two photos, taken with Canon 7D on a Celestron telescope. Had to do a panorama, because the moon is too big for a crop sensor (on that telescope that is), but this year I will have to try to take a shot with the 5D, where the moon should fit into one photo.

Red moon over the bridge

Too bad that the moon is only so small. Sometimes I wish I would have a 400mm lens in my bag, so I could have the moon nice and big in my photos, but usually I’m glad that I don’t have to carry something like that. I don’t even carry the 70-200mm most of the time :)

For those interested, this is the Liberty Bridge in Budapest. And this is a tonemapped image, but I blended around half of it from original shots :)

While they were preparing the stage

Another photo from the Budapest opera, this looking at the stage. I tried tonemapping and also manual blending on this one, and in the end, I went with manual blending. It just looked more natural.

Btw. something completely unrelated. I’m planing a trip to the UK in few weeks, and during the trip I will go with a car from Birmingham to Edinburg… and I’m thinking of stopping for one night somewhere in between. So if anyone has some suggestions for a cool photo opportunity there, some nice coastal town with good access to the shore, let me know :)

St. Stephan’s Cathedral in Passau

This is one of the most beautiful Cathedrals I have ever been in. If I was standing a little further back, the view would be even more stunning. Too bad I managed only to take two photos, before I was asked not to use a tripod. Still, I’m happy I got at least a view like this :)

I wend out again to take some new panorama shots. Didn’t had so much luck with clear air this time, so the photos are not as sharp as I would like them to be. Also when uploading the photo (and resizing), there appeared horrible color bending in the sky.. which wasn’t there in the finished photo, really don’t know how to correct this :(

I have again included a zoomable version, so just continue to the full post and check it out :)
