No clouds at the Notre Dame

I have been to Paris many times already. And almost each time I’m there, I try to go to the Notre Dame and try to get a photo I would like. And over the years, I never got one. I got OK ones, but nothing really spectacular. Every single time, it either rains, there are no clouds, or the weather is just ugly. But I will try again and again :)

Same here. That evening I got absolutely no clouds at all. Nothing. I could probably paste some in, but I generally don’t like to do that. So I ended up with this panorama. This is a two shot panorama, each one from two exposures. Blended and combined in Photoshop.

Back to posting

You may have noticed the lack of updates during the last two weeks. I was just a bit busy with work and travel, that I was not able to post. But I should be back to posting again now, until I have to leave again that is :).

Spring panorama at the lake Bled

Last week I stopped by the lake Bled in Slovania. And while the views were beautiful, the weather was a big boring for photography. The whole time the sky was either clear blue, or like in this photo, with a very soft clouds. Not really something that looks great in photos. But still I took some and will share them with you.

So here is the first one. This is a 4 shot panorama. Each shot taken with a 10 stop ND filter. Combined and edited in Photoshop. It’s a bit wide, but I did not want to crop it. It just shows the whole view so nicely.

Under the SNP bridge

I wonder if I noticed things as much, before I became a photographer. Now, when I see a change in a scene I visited before, I see it immediately. I don’t remember it being that way before. I would walk through the city, ignoring everything. I don’t remember ever stopping and just looking at the sunset. Something I do all the time now. Even if I’m not taking photos (and of course, those are the days with best sunset :)). Maybe I just look more for what to take photos off. Probably. Still, I’m glad that I changed. I enjoy every walk through the city that much more.

I took this photo under the SNP bridge few weeks back. There is a new scaffolding there, so looks like they stared a reconstruction on it. A part of the bridge was closed off before, as I think there are building a new cafe/restaurant there. I’m curious what they will do here.

This is a two shot panorama, each shot a blend of three exposures, edited in Photoshop.

AirMagic

Skylum software just announced a new piece of software to their lineup. AirMagic. This is a fully automatic AI powered software, that is designed to enhance photos taken with drones. I have yet to try it out, as I have not done much drone photos myself. Still, the promo video looks promising, even if probably one could get the result in a more traditional software, like Lightroom or Luminar. Still, for those who don’t like to spend much time editing, this could be something interesting.

They opened pre-orders today, and you can find out more on the official site here.

At the Hohe Wand skywalk

Must be a crazy feeling just jumping off a cliff and flying around. When I was at the Hohe want skywalk in Austria, there were quite a few para gliders flying around. And some of them even very close to the skywalk. I did try paragliding once, but not this kind. The kind where you have a big propeller behind you and a pilot in front of you. Was a great experience.

This photo is a blend of two exposures. Actually both para gliders in this shot are the same person. I captured a series of shots as he flown by, and then chosen two to put together. Edited in Photoshp.
